Discovering wine bars and eateries in New York City is one of life’s great pleasures.
It’s a long way to come to taste 400 NZ wines, but that’s what I did at the Decanter World Wine Awards where I chaired the Kiwi section. Pinot Noir was the hero with eight gold medals while Sauvignon Blanc netted five. Top restaurant experience at the new “Sign of the Don”, a trendy new restaurant/wine bar owned by Trinity Hill founders Robert and Robin Wilson. Classy food and a wine list to die for.
