Bay of Fires Riesling 2021, Tasmania, AUD $47

Winemaker Penny Jones spent a decade at Petaluma before returning to her home state in 2013 to take the reins at Bay of Fires, so there’s some real riesling pedigree on her resumé and this wine is an absolute testament to that.

Pale and fresh in the glass. Lifted floral aromas, jasmine, citrus, wet stones, very pretty. Powerful and driven on the palate, lemon, zesty, lovely drive of acidity, long and pin-pointed. Built for the long haul. (screwcap)
