Mount Majura Vineyard Dry Spur Tempranillo 2019, Canberra District, AUD $73

Mount Majura is one of the few vineyards within the ACT boundary. It’s arguably the outstanding tempranillo vineyard in Australia, some vintages producing four separate tempranillo wines.

The colour is deep and concentrated ruby with a tint of purple, while the bouquet is rich, dark chocolate, some vegetal undertones and quality oak. It’s bold and youthful with full body and firm but balanced tannins. A big, bold, beautifully balanced red wine that reveals more perfumes of berries and spices when given time to aerate. Cellaring would bring out even more. (Screwcap)
