Dark and delish

Dandelion Vineyards Menagerie of the Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2019, Barossa Valley, AUD $30

This is a really attractive wine. Florals, spice, dark cherry, a touch of menthol, there is some really enticing gear happening here on the nose. The palate is fleshy, juicy and driven by sweet, dark, plummy fruit. The tannin is firm and grippy, but constructive and ensures the slurpy fruit character stands in line. There is a lovely spiciness and roundness in the wine and the acidity likewise is partnering with these firm tannins to ensure freshness and delicious drinkability. A wine that has fabulous poise and purpose and is very smart value for money. (Screwcap)
