Classic Hunter

Brokenwood Shiraz 2016, Hunter Valley, AUD $50

Made from the younger vines on the Graveyard vineyard, this is a classic Hunter shiraz, smelling earthy and mineral with a hint of coal-dust; a sprinkle of pepper and spice as well. It’s an elegant style, leaner and more sinewy than, say, a Barossa or McLaren Vale shiraz. It needs air and blooms with decanting. Utterly delicious shiraz. (Screwcap)
