Wine of the Week AU

Giant Steps Syrah 2016, Yarra Valley, AUD $35

Sourced from the Sexton and Tarraford vineyards, this is a beautifully poised, medium-bodied red. Aromatic cranberry and red cherry fruits. Succulent and intense. It has a very fine frame, aided by the inclusion of whole-bunch material in the ferment. Drinking exceptionally well now, though it can also be cellared in the short term. (Screwcap)

      Hi John,

We have an special ranking algorithm that determines the level within the wine region hierarchy where a wine’s rank is assigned.
The Yarra Valley is within the Port Phillip region and we’ve compared this shiraz with the 19 other 2016 shirazes we’ve tasted from the whole Port Phillip region so far.
