Juicy and spicy

Aphelion The Confluence Grenache 2017, McLaren Vale, AUD $32

From 80-year-old Blewitt Springs vines, made by 2017 Young Gun of Wine finalist Rob Mack. The bouquet is intensely spicy with peppery, dusty earth and dark-berry fruit aromas. It’s lush with flooding sweet fruit succulence, the tannins light and fine yet making a positive contribution. Great focus and balance. (Screwcap)
