Wine of the Week AU

Giant Steps Pinot Noir 2017, Yarra Valley, AUD $35

This is a great omen for the 2017 Yarra pinots to come. A nice deep colour and a charming fruit-driven bouquet led by strawberry and raspberry. It’s deliciously pinoty and fruit-sweet, oak taking a back-seat, and tannins well moderated. A young but very stylish pinot and excellent value. (Screwcap)

That was the ranking when I uploaded that review (in February). As of today, this wine is #13 of the 2017 pinot noir dry reds I’ve tasted. And #7 of the 2017 Yarra Valley pinots. Things can change whenever new notes are uploaded.

Hi Huon, you might want to adjust the 3/53 for Australian 2017 Pinot. Had this wine last night, very easy to knock back, agree on extreme value. Garry
