Wine of the Week AU

Best’s Great Western Sparkling Shiraz 2014, Grampians, AUD $35

This has a deep, purple-tinted colour, with savoury dried herb and earthy notes over dark plum, chocolate and spices. It’s medium to full-bodied with good rich fruit, some sweetness and soft but drying tannins to follow. There’s a trace of bitter licorice on the finish, which helps cleanse the palate. Excellent! (Crown seal)
