Join Bob Campbell MW in Italy
A number of people missed out on my eight-day tour of Emilia-Romagna (the gastro-province above Tuscany – the source of great prosciutto, culatello, Felino salami, mortadella, Parmigiano Reggiano and balsamic vinegar) so I’ve booked a repeat performance in June next year. The maximum size of the group is 14 people.
We stay at a winery amongst a sea of vines in a beautiful amphitheatre looking toward the distant coast. In addition to the mostly local wines you will encounter at lunch and dinner, I plan to do a number of pre-dinner tastings featuring a range of wines from Italy’s most celebrated wine regions including Piedmont, Tuscany, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Puglia. It’s a celebration of Italian wine rather than the wines of Emilia-Romagna. We’ll visit places off the main tourist routes, not forgetting the famous Bologna food market, and discover a town famous for its modern domestic ceramics and traditional designs.
Interested in learning to sketch? My wife, Marion, will run sketching classes for beginners where you will learn to keep a visual diary of some of the beautiful buildings we encounter. The illustration shown above is my very first sketch, showing a church encountered on our trip this year. Believe me, if I can draw, anyone can.
