The NZ Herald reports that Pask winery in Hawke’s Bay has been purchased by the Wellington company that also owns Jackson Estate in Marlborough. They plan to merge the two businesses to achieve economies of scale and revitalise the Pask brand as they did with the Jackson Estate brand after purchasing it in 2013.

Pask has a 1000 tonne winery and 60ha of prime vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels region. Pask founder, Chris Pask, will be appointed to the board of the new company as Founding Director.

Jeff Clarke has been appointed as the chief winemaker for the Group. Clarke was head winemaker at Pernod Ricard for many years before moving to ARA Wines in Marlborough.
