Pinot Palooza, an Aussie-inspired wine party that describes itself as a “touring Pinot Noir festival” is returning to Auckland and making its debut in Christchurch this September.

It’s the southern hemisphere’s largest annual pinot noir and music festival, combining pinot noir with “amazing food and rocking tunes”. A sample of the prestigious pinot producers who are booked to be there are Curly Flat (Macedon), Josef Chromy (Tasmania), Ata Rangi (Martinborough, NZ), Stefano Lubiana (Tasmania), Dog Point Vineyards (Marlborough, NZ) and Pegasus Bay (Waipara, NZ).

In the unlikely event that you tire of tasting pinot, Brew Moon beer and cider will also be available. The Somm Bar offers the chance to taste great Burgundy at cost price with some of the country’s best sommeliers.

Tickets (NZD $60) are now on sale and include an epic take-home Plumm Vintage RedB glass (valued at NZD $35), as well as all wine tastes. Festival goers also have the opportunity to purchase a VIP ticket for NZD $100, which gets them a special tasting at the Somm Bar, a meal voucher, and more.

On the day, attendees will be able to vote for their favourite pinot noir producer on roving iPads, putting them into the draw to win several prizes.
