O’Leary Walker Hurtle Pinot Noir Chardonnay 2011, Adelaide Hills, AUD $28
Even with six years of age, this very fine wine does not give too much away at first but opens with time in the glass. Faint blossom, lemon sherbet and fresh cream aromas. Aperitif in style with the flavour focus at the front of the palate. There is a little meringue, a touch of nougat and a lovely savouriness that builds the longer the wine is open.
I anticipate that it will put on more weight with further time in bottle. Serve chilled, but not too cold. Highly satisfying. (Cork)
