Snappy shiraz

Wombat Crossing Hermit’s Block Shiraz 2011, Hunter Valley, AUD $32

An engaging wine which, at six years of age, is just starting to open and bloom. Attractive raspberry and cranberry aromas on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied and delicious with snappy red fruits, fine tannins and balanced acidity. Plus, there is a very faint savoury undercurrent adding depth and interest. (Screwcap)
