Wine of the Week NZ

Greystone Erin’s Reserve Chardonnay 2015, Waipara, NZD $95

Made from grapes grown on Greystone’s steepest block of limestone-rich vineyard with a North-West aspect. Rich, nutty nose with a hint of caramel. Intense, flavoursome wine with cashew nut, peach, tree fruit, spicy oak and bran biscuit flavours. High alcohol (14.5%) adds a little warmth to the palate. A perfect balance of acidity prevents any suggestion of cloying in this big, powerful chardonnay. (Screwcap)
