Old vine pinot gris

Black Estate Circuit Pinot Gris 2016, Canterbury, NZD $24

Made from grapes grown on 30-year-old vines at French Farm on Banks Peninsula. 25% was barrel fermented and matured in oak for four months. Quite a textural wine, with reasonably intense ripe pear and spice flavours. A smooth textured and very appealing pinot gris. (Screwcap)
