Wine of the Week AU

Riposte The Sabre Pinot Noir 2014, Adelaide Hills, AUD $35

Owner Tim Knappstein recently celebrated 50 years of winemaking. This high-altitude pinot is a classy wine, showing complex savoury, sousbois and developed dark cherry fruit aromas, with forest floor and spice nuances. There’s good tannin structure: it’s a pinot with depth – a cut above most at its price. (Screwcap)
