Chambers The Family Riesling Gouais Traminer, Rutherglen 2014 $15
This is a curiosity. Why the name? Chambers has the world’s only commercial planting of gouais, which is a parent of the other Alsace grape varieties. It’s a bright, fresh, simple, soft, dry white, with peach nectar, malt and vanilla aromas and some chopped parsley hints. (11.4 per cent alcohol; screw cap.) Score 88 ★★★½ – view on huonhooke.com
