Wine Of The Week

Amisfield 2012 RKV Reserve Pinot Noir, Central Otago $120

RKV stands for Rocky Knoll Vineyard, a one-hectare, steep and stony parcel of vines. Remarkably powerful, yet elegant Pinot Noir that lives up to its exalted price and flagship status. Whole bunch fermentation has added an extra spicy, fresh herb complexity to dense plum and dark berry flavours. Rich, chocolate/mocha oak influence is the icing on a very exciting cake. Delicious now but will develop well in bottle. (Screwcap) Score: 98 ★★★★★ – view on bobcampbell.nz
