Bowen Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra 2013 $33
The colour is dense purple-red; the bouquet is subtle but clean and ripe with smoky, toasty oak and ripe black-fruit aromas. It’s very full-bodied and coats the tongue with tannin. Powerful, concentrated and emphatic, the dark fruits, violet and licorice flavours melded with masses of tannin. Long-term. (Cork; 15.5 per cent alcohol.) Score 93 ★★★★½ – view on huonhooke.com
