Wine Of The Week
Rock Ferry Cawte’s Cave Pinot Noir, Central Otago 2013 $15
The normal price is $39: how they manage to sell it for $15 is a mystery. It’s a great buy: deep coloured, rich and concentrated, with toasty oak and smoky sulfides adding to black-cherry and spice flavours with a lick of star anise. It has the structure to take some aging. (Screw cap; 13.5 per cent alcohol.). Score 95 ★★★★★ view on huonhooke.com
