This is one of the classics of Coonawarra, typically at the elegant end of the spectrum, with no hint of greenness but lots of cassis-like red-fruit aromas, rose-petal and violet high-notes. Medium-full bodied and stylishly crafted, with smooth, fine-grained tannins, impeccable balance and charm. (14.5 per cent alcohol). Aging: Two to 25 years. Score: 94 – Huon’s Wine 360
Food: Roast lamb with mint sauce.
Stockists: Georges Fine Wine, Willoughby, Sydney; Nillumbik Cellars, Melbourne.
