Wine Of The Week

Singlefile Lindesay’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, Great Southern 2013 $33

Singlefile is an exciting new producer in the Denmark area of Western Australia’s Great Southern region. The Snowden family seek out the best grapes and employ the best winemakers, with Larry Cherubino consulting. The results are consistently impressive. This wine has a full red colour with purple tints, and a generous smoky tinge to the spice and dark-fruit aromas, while the palate comes on strongly, with plenty of impact, full body, depth and power. Good concentration and some firmness to the tannins which will help it age. A smart wine at a great price, and worthwhile cellaring – although it’s excellent now. Drink now to 2025. 14.2 per cent alcohol. 94/100 – Huon’s Wine 360

Food: beef carpaccio, veal parmigiana, veal saltimbocca, pan-roasted duck, washed-rind cheeses
