Henry Frost Riesling, Clare Valley 2012 $15

Henry Frost is from the Geelong-based Scotchman’s Hill group. This is a very good traditional Aussie dry riesling. Straw and toast aromas have a tinge of gardenia and some buttery development starting up. It’s taut, high-acid, intense and zesty, with a tangy finish to help it go with fish. Now to 2020. 12 per cent alcohol. 92/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: pan-fried snapper

Stockists: Vintage Blue, Balmoral Cellars, Amato’s Liquor
