Best Rose

Clyde Park Rose, Geelong 2013 $20

Deep hot-pink colour and a smoky, toasty, meaty, caramel bouquet of some complexity, and a suggestion of barrel. The palate is rich and soft with a spicy, cherry flavour suggesting pinot noir. The texture is pillowy-soft, with feather-light tannins. A fuller style of rose. Drink young. 12.5 per cent alcohol. 89/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: tuna carpaccio

Stockist: Kemeny’s; Chambers Cellars
