For the cellar

Head Wines The Brunette Shiraz, Barossa Valley 2012 $57

From a single vineyard in the Moppa district, a striking shiraz with deep, bright purple-red colour and youthful, undeveloped cherry aromas. The palate is full-bodied and fleshy, soft and superbly textured, with ample, persistent tannins and terrific length. Elegant yet powerful; a wine of finesse. It’s a baby that will reward cellaring. Now to 2032. 13.9 per cent alcohol. 95/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: Comte cheese

Stockists: Annandale Cellars, Palm Beach Wine Co, Moncur Cellars
