Chateau Peybonhomme-les-Tours, Blaye-Cote de Bordeaux 2010 $29

An attractively priced cru bourgeois from a top vintage, this has aromas of rhubarb and raspberry, with a background of humus or potting-mix. Soft and easygoing in the mouth, it has a tight, savoury backing of tannin, all in good balance. Good drinkability and distinctively Bordeaux. Now to 2023. 13.5 per cent alcohol. 89/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: pink roast lamb
