Terre a Terre Cabernet Sauvignon, Wrattonbully 2010 $33

Xavier Bizot makes an unashamedly tannic cabernet that reminds of old-style Bordeaux. Red and dark fruit, aniseed and fresh herb aromas. It’s full-bodied and seriously structured with gripping tannins that demand serving it with protein – meat or cheese. A seriously good cabernet in a style not often found these days. Best 2015 to 2032. 14.5 per cent alcohol. 90/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)
