Quattro Mano Novillo Tempranillo, Barossa 2012 $17

This is a lighter, simpler, early-drinking style of tempranillo the Spanish call joven. It has a good purple-red colour and a bright, straightforward, fruit-driven and youthful cherry aroma, followed by a medium-bodied, lean and linear palate with a touch of salty mineral character. It’s very quaffable. Now to 2018. 13 per cent alcohol. 88/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: charcuterie platter

Stockist: exclusive to Dan Murphy’s
