Best delicate white

Louis Moreau Chablis, Burgundy, France 2010 $32

Chablis is always 100 per cent chardonnay, grown in a cold region that is closer to Champagne than most of Burgundy. This light, bright yellow wine has a tangy aroma of green herbs and honeysuckle, a little less mineral than a classic Chablis perhaps but there’s delicious flavour aplenty and chalky dry texture with a hint of richness. Very fine, pure and delicate. A pristine, unwooded, fruit-driven chardonnay. Screwcap. 12 per cent alcohol. 89/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Stockists: Bonds Corner (Sydney); Armadale Cellars (Melbourne)
