Meerea Park moves cellar door
Hunter Valley family winery Meerea Park (tastings) has opened a new cellar door, in the Roche complex at the corner of Broke and McDonalds Roads, Pokolbin. The complex includes the Hunter Valley Gardens and motel, restaurants, a café, cheese shop, and the Tempus Two (tastings) cellar door. Meerea Park’s cellar door had been at the former Boutique Wine Centre on Broke Road since 1997. The new outlet opened from July 6, seven days a week, 10am-5pm. Meerea Park is owned and operated by brothers Rhys and Garth Eather. It began 23 years ago, but the Eathers have real history: their great great grandfather, Alexander Munro, was a winemaker who established a vineyard in Singleton in 1850. His name is enshrined on the top Meerea Park shiraz (tastings) and semillon (tastings) wines.
