Yering Station Village Chardonnay, Yarra Valley 2011 $25

This is a lean, restrained, typical 2011 Yarra wine with low alcohol and subdued aromas that recall malt and nougat. I like the tight, reserved, latent palate. It reveals more nuances the more you sip. It will reward short-term aging. Drink now to six years. 12 per cent alcohol. 90/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: stuffed zucchini flowers
