NSW wines meet the French palate
For more than 20 years the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce has organised an annual judging of Victorian wines in Melbourne. With French judges.
Now they’re bringing the concept to NSW. Called the Concours des Vins du NSW, it will be a celebration of the state’s wines conducted under the patronage of the French Consulate-General.
It’s claimed to promote Australian wines through a French perspective and palate. Master sommelier Franck Moreau of the Merivale Group will chair the panel, while Gilles Lapalus of Bendigo winery Sutton Grange (tastings), Celine Rousseau of Chalkers Crossing winery (tastings), and Rockpool Bar & Grill sommelier Michael Engelmann will be among the judges.
The awards presentation and tasting will take place on June 13 at the Wharf Restaurant, Pier 2, Walsh Bay, from 6pm.
