Bargain of the week

Mr Mick Shiraz, Clare Valley 2010 $15

This is Tim Adams’s budget label, named in honour of his mentor, Mick Knappstein. It has good depth of colour and simple red-fruit and herbal aromas, clean and well-made. It’s lighter weighted within the shiraz context; smooth and easygoing with moderate tannins. Now to four years. 14 per cent alcohol. 87/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: herbed rissoles
