Bargain of the week

Jacob’s Creek Riesling, South Australia 2012 $10-$12

This is great value. For sheer immediate pleasure it’s hard to beat. The best 2012s need more time; this is the one to drink while you wait. Restrained aromas of lime, stone-fruits and geranium; light bodied and delicate, fruity and soft with a hint of juiciness. Now to 2017. 11.5 per cent alcohol. 89/100 (Huon’s Wine 360)

Food: whitebait fritters
