Angullong, the quiet achiever at the Australian Highlands Wine Show

Orange vineyard Angullong (tasting notes) was the quiet achiever at the Australian Highlands Wine Show.

Angullong’s 2012 Noble Riesling won gold and was voted best sweet white wine; its 2011 Fossil Hill trio of alternative red varietals all did well, a gold medal going to the tempranillo, bronzes to barbera and sangiovese.

And Angullong grapes were in the Centennial Vineyards Reserve Pinot Noir and Reserve Shiraz Viognier, as well as Centennial’s 2011 Reserve Tempranillo (bronze). Angullong’s own 2012 sauvignon blanc won silver, going within an ace of a gold medal.
